wholeness and water

"I will make rivers flow among barren hills and springs of water run in the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water and the dry land into flowing springs. People will see this and know that I, the Lord, have done it. They will come to understand that Israel's holy God has made it happen.”
Isaiah 41:18‭, ‬20 GNT

God repeatedly tells us and shows us that hard times will not last forever, but it's often hard to believe when we're suffering and it seems like every moment is an eternity. Maybe that's why so many scriptures remind us of God's promise to send water in the desert, new life in the midst of death, peace in the midst of chaos.

We tend to assure each other with words like, "It's going to be ok." I respond, "Is it? Is it really? How do you know?" I don't like pat assurances, but this one holds true. Though it may take time, even a very long time, there is hope because there is God, and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

My prayer for today: "God, pour out your Holy Spirit upon us, so that we may be aware of your presence, and comforted by your grace and peace."

Thanks, God.
