The Measuring Voice

"When you are oriented to abundance, you care less about being in control, and you take more risks. You may give away short-term profits in pursuit of a bigger dream; you may take a long view without being able to predict the outcome. In the measurement world, you set a goal and strive for it. In the universe of possibility, you set the context and let life unfold."

"That opinionated "little voice in the head" is almost always speaking from Measurement Central."

-Rosamund Stone Zander & Benjamin Zander, The Art of Possibility

Ugh. That voice. It's determined to ruin my mood and put a dark cloud over everything.  It says that I am not good enough, haven't done enough, etc. And it's very passive aggressive about it. It doesn't speak for itself.  It says, "So-and-so doesn't think you're good enough."  How does it know? It doesn't.  But it's still hard to ignore.

So today I am calling it out.

Hey voice. You don't know what you are talking about.  I am a beloved child of God and I AM good enough. Jesus loves me.

So there. <sticks out tongue, puts thumbs in ears>

Thanks, God.
